Key Largo Florida

Key Largo Florida

Blistering heat, equally warm bodies of water – numerous pathways, essentially, a labyrinth through the Mangroves on their way off the coast of Key Largo. A close friend of mine, John, that I’ve known 16 years (from Toronto) joined me on this adventure, in the serenity of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.

Strapped to our banana yellow kayaks, we set out to maneuver through the Mangroves, and maneuver we did. Equipped with a map, we traveled through wide and narrow paths, the latter made the entire trip. Imagine the Matrix where Neo is dodging those bullets in that slow motion acrobatic way, same is said the way we paddled through the Mangroves, listening to quiets of nature, it was a little unnerving as crocs and snakes are present but out of sight at the same time.

Nevertheless, if you can handle the heat, grab a paddle, a good friend and kayak the watery forests that Florida, namely Key Largo, has to offer.
